As previously mentioned, the new fee schedule for veterinarians – specifically the section concerning emergency services – comes into effect upon publication. It was published today, February 13, 2020, in the Federal Law Gazette. Therefore, this new Fourth Ordinance Amending the Veterinary Fee Schedule applies immediately. The new fee schedule has been passed by the Bundestag and Bundesrat. However, it will only come into effect upon publication in the Federal Law Gazette. It was not included in the first two issues of this year, dated January 7th and 10th, 2020. Therefore, no one is likely to be billing according to the new emergency service fee schedule yet. We will keep you updated.
