The first and probably only trainee program for veterinarians in German small animal medicine starts this August at doc4pets.

It is now possible to simultaneously begin specialist veterinary training for small and domestic animals and receive parallel business/legal training in order to later take over one's own practice as managing director and potential partner.

While traineeships have become an established and attractive career path for potential managers in the commercial and engineering sectors, a comparable concept for veterinarians does not yet exist. Specialist veterinarian Doreen Succow explains the concept: "Based on the specialist veterinary training guidelines of the Baden-Württemberg State Veterinary Chamber, we have developed an ATF-accredited training program for our future managers." Co-CEO Sven Jan Arndt, LL.M., adds: "In addition to medical expertise, our trainees also acquire the business management skills necessary to run their own practice. From practice for practice."„

Such a trainee program offers many advantages – in addition to insights into different specialist areas and branches, it provides intensive and structured support from the explicitly dedicated FTÄ Succow, Head of Training/Best Practice. This creates a network of future managing directors within the group, who remain in active professional exchange. Synergies at their best.

Furthermore, a 4-day full-time week, no 24-hour shifts, and bonus programs similar to BPT also allow enough freedom for a good work-life balance.

About Us:

doc4pets GmbH is an owner-managed group of five small animal practices in southwestern Germany. With its innovative and disruptive approach to veterinary succession, it offers veterinarians looking to sell their practices a succession plan with qualified senior veterinarians from within the doc4pets network. These senior veterinarians, in turn, have the opportunity to acquire a stake in the acquired practice and later take over a majority share. The core concept is that of the highly qualified independent practitioner, who receives support from the group in areas such as purchasing, marketing, and accounting. This allows them to focus entirely on their patients.

Due to its continuous growth, doc4pets is always looking for small animal veterinarians who want to develop their skills as experts in a small animal center or as successors to a veterinary practice. Learn more about the concept at: https://www.doc4pets.de/trainee

doc4pets has decided to hold essential training courses with outstanding instructors in our own practices. This is primarily for the following reasons:

  • Logistically easier for all employees to handle (no overnight stays or long journeys)
  • Learning in familiar surroundings with existing materials
  • smaller learning groups that also collaborate later on.
  • Top topic drop-out – focused on the wishes of our veterinarians

Today's event began with Dr. Michael Koch and our surgeons specializing in osteosynthesis (bone surgery):

Dr. Michael Koch with his protégés

Dr. Michael Koch is a recognized and well-known surgeon, known for his participation in many prestigious continuing education events.

We at doc4pets want to further expand this very practical training series with experts from other fields.

Furthermore, our veterinarians have the option to... Vet to regularly attend webinars / online courses that also include ATF credit hours.

Improve International is another training partner where senior physicians and potential managers have the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized qualification, e.g. as a General Practitioner.

This, in conjunction with our in-house mentoring, is intended to ensure, in the long term, not only on-the-job learning but also the professional development of each individual member of our veterinary staff in their area of interest, which ultimately also benefits our little patients.

Experienced speakers who would like to visit us in Karlsruhe are welcome to contact Mr. Sven Jan Arndt turn around.
