After everyone had been quickly tested, we were able to continue our in-house training series yesterday evening with the topic of pain therapy / pain outpatient department. The lecturer was our senior physician Manuela Bencec, who has worked intensively in this area at the University of Giessen, among others.

In addition to veterinarians, veterinary assistants also took part:

And Tanay, who, however, seemed rather absent 😉

With effect from 01.03.2021, the doc4pets Group will take over the small animal practice of Dr. Anke Essig. Mrs. Essig has built up this practice with three assistant veterinarians as a mixed practice - small animal and horse practice over 20 years ago with a lot of passion and commitment. Dr. Anke Essig on the takeover: "Unfortunately, there was no internal company succession, so we approached doc4pets. Within a very short time, a due diligence was carried out and an appropriate agreement was reached. Thus, my practice did not have to close its doors in January and my life's work will continue."

Veterinarian Susanne Arndt, managing partner of doc4pets GmbH: "When we were approached and then saw the practice for the first time, it was love at first sight. We are very pleased that we can ensure a quick and good practice succession with flexibility on both sides."

Anna Daum, veterinarian, with two assistant veterinarians and the corresponding team of veterinary assistants, will offer the patient owners from Malsch, Gaggenau, Ettlingen, Rastatt and Baden-Baden the high quality of veterinary services to which Dr. Essig is accustomed and will continue to expand them. For the area of horses we are still looking for a motivated equine practitioner in employment or as a self-employed partner. About doc4pets:

doc4pets GmbH is an owner-managed group of now five small animal practices in the southwest of Germany. With its innovative and disruptive approach to veterinary succession, it offers the veterinarian willing to hand over a practice succession with qualified senior doctors from the doc4pets family. The latter, in turn, have the opportunity to participate in the acquired practice and later take over the majority. The focus is on the idea of the highly qualified freelancer, who is supported by the group in purchasing as well as marketing, accounting, etc.. Thus, he can fully concentrate on his small patients.

Due to constant growth, doc4pets is always on the lookout for veterinarians for small animal medicine/horse medicine. The job offers are aimed both at initial assistants, who are accompanied in the context of a mentoring program on your future path in the job. But also senior physicians for small animals are offered exciting job offers and clear career perspectives. It is possible, for example, to take on more than just a job as managing director of one of the branches, but to assume responsibility for staff and business success yourself. Alternatively, qualified senior doctors also have the opportunity to specialise further as a manager in a larger small animal centre and to set up and expand their own business areas. Today the dear Dr. Wölfel from the University of Munich was back in the house. Today our initial assistants had the special pleasure of further training.

Dr. Wölfel hard on the assistant 😉

The next training courses in the field of surgery are also already planned for the beginning of February. We are pleased that these in-house training courses of the doc4pets academy, which are adapted to the respective level of knowledge, enable largely individual training with highly qualified external instructors.

This was already the 4th in-house course of the doc4pets academy this year. And of course, all of this for the best of your darlings.

Dr. Michael Koch is again present at the doc4pets academy today - this group is currently working on the topics of surgical treatment of laryngeal paralysis and access to the salivary gland.

doc4pets academy - Advantage:

As you can see, our extremely small groups allow for very intensive and individual learning. This, combined with our own instruments, brings the best possible learning results.

In December the ultrasound courses will continue.

Dr.med.vet. Inga Wölfel from the LMU Munich gave this morning a comprehensive basic course in the field of ultrasound diagnostics for our assistant veterinarians. This afternoon it will be the turn of the senior physicians with more detailed cases.

Assistant Ultrasound Course

We are pleased to be able to continue our series within the doc4pets academy so competently after the last time Dr.med.vet. Michael Koch had already given our colleagues excellent further training in the surgical field. The next course will take place again with Dr. Koch in November.

doc4pets academy - what is this?

We see the great advantage of these in-house training courses in the doc4pets academy with external experts in that they can be taught and practiced in familiar surroundings with colleagues in small and manageable groups with the existing equipment, thus facilitating the transfer to daily practice.

doc4pets has decided to offer essential training courses with excellent lecturers in our own practices. This is mainly for the following reasons:

  • logistically easier to handle for all employees (no overnight stays or long journeys)
  • learning in familiar surroundings with existing material
  • smaller learning groups, which also work together later
  • acute topic loss - focused on the wishes of our veterinarians

Today, Dr. Michael Koch started with our surgeons in the area of osteosynthesis (bone surgery):

Dr. Michael Koch with his protégés

Dr. Michael Koch is a recognized and well-known surgeon, who is known from many prestigious continuing education events.

We at doc4pets want to expand this very practice-oriented series of training courses with experts from other departments.

In addition, our veterinarians have the possibility to Vetinaries to attend continuously also webinars / online courses with ATF hours.

Improve International is another training partner where senior physicians and potential managers are given the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized degree as e.g. general practitioner.

This, in combination with our in-house mentoring, is intended to ensure not only on-the-job learning but also the professional advancement of each individual member of our veterinary profession in his or her field of interest in the long term, which ultimately also benefits our young patients.

Experienced speakers who would like to visit us in Karlsruhe are welcome to contact Mr. Sven Jan Arndt.

One or the other of them already had the pleasure to meet our two new assistant veterinarians. Veterinarian Susanne Helmlinger first studied biology at the Philips University in Marburg and graduated with a bachelor's degree. This was followed by studies in veterinary medicine at the Justus-Liebig-University of Gießen. Mrs. Helmlinger did an internship at Loro Parque on Tenerife and is an enrichment in the field of birds in our practice.

Mr. veterinarian Mag.vet. Rohan Schnell is Luxembourger and, as you can see from his title, studied at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. His hobby-horses are currently in the field of physiotherapy in small animal medicine and (soft tissue) surgery.

Both work at our locations in Karlsruhe & Karlsbad.

We are happy to have them on board and wish them a good time with us!

We will be cheaper from 01.07.2020
We will be cheaper from 01.07.2020 1024 724Sven Jan Arndt

Dear animal lovers,
I don't know if you have ever noticed - at the vet you pay sales tax. In contrast to human physicians, we are veterinarians subject to value added tax. What does this mean for you? In principle, nothing, except that you as a consumer cannot deduct input tax and therefore our prices are subject to VAT for you. This is usually 19% on our services and 7% on feed & medicine etc.

Now the good news:
The Federal Government has decided to reduce the value added tax on 01.07.2020. We will of course pass this on to you 1:1. This means that from today on services are 3% cheaper and medicines & food etc. 2%.

We become cheaper
